RACE REPORT

Despite only word-of-mouth marketing, attendance tripled from the first year. Filmmakers, photographers, and press took notice and documented the event. The New York Times published an article titled “A Brooklyn Bike Race Worthy of James Dean”. The race atmosphere continued to evolve with over a hundred spectators and a large after-party. Neil Bezdek won the race in a solo breakaway. He would become a pro road racer by the end of the year.
