TIMING CHIP PICK-UP & RETURN

Timing chips will be handed out at early number pick-up and at athlete check-in on race day

All athletes must make a £20 timing chip deposit (exact change required)

Timing chips MUST be returned following an athlete’s final track session

Timing chip return will be at the athlete check-in area

Athletes who do not return their timing chips on race day will forfeit their deposit and be fined £100

OPEN PRACTICE

New for London we are introducing a session before qualifying begins. This 35 minute session will be available to all registered athletes. We will require riders to keep their speed safely controlled as the track will be congested. The goal of this session is to give everyone a first look and chance to enjoy the circuit without pressure before it all begins. All riders MUST have their bib numbers and bikes numbers in place to enter the Open Practice. You do NOT have to pass through Parc Fermé before the Open practice session, you will have to 30 minutes before your racing session(s).

EXPANDED USE OF CIRCUIT FLAGS

Red: An indication that the session is stopped. Please slow immediately and follow marshal instructions

Yellow: An indication to a rider of danger ahead – slow and be prepared to take avoiding action

Green: An indication that the track is clear and competition is commencing

Blue: An indication to a rider that they are about to be lapped and must prepare to leave the circuit

Checkered: An indication to rider that the session is complete

London No.2 New Flag Rules

NEW GRID RULES

  • An athletes’ front tire must be within their grid mark
  • Athletes must not move off their grid mark until the race is started
  • Athletes must start with one foot on the ground
  • Track stands are not permitted
  • Athlete’s are not permitted to lean on another athlete or the barriers
  • An athlete must start on their exact grid mark.
  • Any athlete found during post race review starting outside their grid mark, track standing, or breaking any of the above stated rules will be penalized and/or disqualified from the results.

QUALIFYING GROUPS

Qualifying groups now have a maximum of two riders per team. This will help small teams and independent riders have a fighting chance against the big squads.

VIEW FULL RACE RULES

ATHLETE / TEAM AREA

  • The team area for RHC London no.2 is located within the Greenwich Peninsula Car Park 3 (https://goo.gl/haiehq
  • The parking lot is uncovered.
  • Athletes/teams are permitted to park in the team area but MUST present their bib number or communicate their name to the steward. 
  • One (1) vehicle per athlete can park within the team area.
  • The race organization will NOT supply tents, bike racks, chairs or additional infrastructure.
  • Teams are permitted to setup their team areas within the permitted list outlined below.
  • The area will include trash cans and toilets.
  • This area will be windy. Tents MUST be properly secured. Tents that are not secured will be taken down.
  • Setting up team areas outside the designated athletes area will NOT be allowed.
  • Athletes/teams will be responsible for maintaining order and leaving their area clean at the end of the event.
  • Athletes/teams are NOT allowed to sell team merchandise.
  • Teams will be fully responsible for personal belongings in the area.
  • Moving rollers from/to the official warm-up area is prohibited.

ACCESS / EXIT PROCEDURES

  • Parking is permitted in the team area between 10:00 – 11:30
  • Vehicles can NOT leave until after the podium ceremony is over and the event staff opens the barriers, 22.30.
  • Athletes/teams are permitted to park in the team area but MUST present their bib number or communicate their name to the steward. 
  • Vehicles MUST follow the event crew parking procedures.
  • Vehicles who arrive outside the scheduled time MUST find alternate parking in the area.
  • The parking lot has limited parking spaces. If the parking lot is full, vehicles MUST find alternate parking in the area.
  • There are multiple pay and display parking lots in the area. Athletes/teams can NOT setup their areas in these parking lots.
  • Athletes arriving via public transport (tube or bus) can access the athletes area anytime prior to their scheduled qualifying groups (course crossing times must be obeyed).
