Giovanni Longo raced the Track World Championships in 2010 and 2011 during this time he also was Italian National Champion in the Team Sprint. Despite these successes Longo decided that he would rather be a doctor then a professional cyclist. The Red Hook Crit has become the outlet for his passion for cycling this season. In Brooklyn he claimed the first ever men’s Super Pole win but ended up crashing out of the final. He had better luck in London, winning his heat race and finishing 5th while leading out his teammate for the win.
