Spectator Information
The Red Hook Criterium is one of the world’s most exciting sporting events and completely free for spectators! Come early to get your hands on a free Rockstar Games cowbell so you can make a lot of noise during the races.
Food: We will have a curated selection of some of NYC’s finest mobile eateries. The complete list of food vendors is below.
Beer: Local brewery the Other Half will be selling beer throughout the event area.
Merchandise: We will have a merchandise shop located in the lobby of the Brooklyn Cruise Terminal selling all of the latest crit gear. We accept cash and credit cards. See our US Shop for current items.
Where to find the race venue
Pedestrian entrances are located at Ferris and King Street. Please note there is only one spectator entrance this year. All bags are subject to search upon entering the venue.
Subway: Take the F train to Smith/9th Street Train station and walk approximately a mile to the venue or change for the B61 Bus or take 2/3/4/5/N/R subway train to Borough Hall and change for B61 bus which is on Atlantic Avenue (at Court Street).
Bus: Take the B61 and get off at Pioneer and Van Brunt Streets. Then walk approximately 5 long blocks to the terminal entrance at Ferris St and King St.
Car: There is no parking inside the venue for spectators and athletes. Limited street parking can be found in the neighborhood.
Bike: Bikes are allowed in the venue and we’ll be offering a bike valet service sponsored by Levi’s Commuter.

SPECTATOR RULES
As this is an open event, please be mindful of the following:
- Spectators must stay in designated areas
- Stay off the racing circuit
- Spectators are not allowed to cross the circuit
- Spectators agree to be filmed and photographed
- Please help keep the venue clean by placing trash in the waste bins provided
- No outside alcohol allowed – beer will be avaialble on-site
- No interference with race officials
- All bags subject to search

- 26 laps / 30 km total distance
- 250 riders attempt to qualify
- Qualifying lap times determine starting grid position and entry into main race
- Top 85 racers from qualifying advance to main race
- Qualifying positions 86 – 150 line up for an 18-lap “Last Chance Race”
- Top-10 finishers from the “Last Chance Race” advance to main event
- Lapped racers eliminated
- Points awarded toward 2016 Red Hook Criterium Championship Series
